Connect ChatGPT to Chalk
Connect ChatGPT so it can read your training and write plans straight into Chalk. About 3 minutes, no tech skills needed.
What you'll need
A ChatGPT account on Plus or Pro — the free plan can't add connectors yet.
- 1
Get your Chalk link
In Chalk, tap Settings (the cog), then "Connect your AI coach". Tap "Generate connector link", then the copy button. This long web address is your private key — keep this tab open so you can grab it in a second.
- 2
Open ChatGPT's settings
Go to chatgpt.com (or open the app). Click your name or photo in the bottom-left corner, then choose "Settings".
- 3
Turn on Developer mode
Open "Apps & Connectors", then "Advanced settings", and switch on "Developer mode". This is what lets you add your own tools — you only do it once.
- 4
Add a new connector
Go back to the Apps & Connectors screen and tap "Create" (or "Add"). A "New app" box pops up.
- 5
Fill in the details
Name it "Chalk". In the "Server URL" box, paste the link you copied in step 1. Set "Authentication" to "No authentication". Tick the "I understand" box, then tap "Create".
- 6
Start chatting
Open a new chat, make sure "Chalk" is switched on for it, then try: "Use Chalk to show my recent sessions." If it answers with your data, you're connected. 🎉
Stuck? Quick fixes
It says it can't find Chalk's tools
Remove the Chalk connector completely and add it again — a simple on/off toggle keeps the old version. Re-adding pulls the latest tools.
I don't see Developer mode
You need ChatGPT Plus or Pro. Developer-mode connectors aren't available on the free plan yet.
Nothing happens when I paste the link
Make sure you pasted the whole web address (it starts with https:// and ends in a long key) — not just the ff_… part on its own.
